We’re here to help you find profitable Amazon product niches all on your own.

What’s a niche? Why should you care?

A niche is a subset of something that is smaller and more specialized. A niche can be a specific type of product, group of customers, or a book or movie genre. As an e-commerce marketer and business owner, it is important to understand the importance of niches.

Although larger markets or groups may have higher sales, there is also more competition. Niches, on the other hand, offer pockets of opportunity and less competition.

Let’s take, for example, the possibility that you are interested in creating content or products about health and fitness. You’ll quickly find yourself competing against the big players in the broad category “Health & Fitness”.

However, if you dig deeper into the broad category, competition begins to diminish.

You can choose to focus on a segment such as yoga from Health & Fitness. Even yoga is huge. What about barre yoga? Oder, even better, barre yoga for ladies? Still too much competition? What about barre yoga for postpartum mothers?

You will be more likely to find a market segment that has limited competition the further you go.

You can target a particular set of customers and respond to their needs with niches.

A smaller market share can also be a great “jump off” point that gives you the leverage to expand into larger markets.

How can you find Amazon product niches.

Although there are many ways to create sub-markets for your product, one of the most effective ways to target a niche market is to combine customer interests and behaviors.

This requires some additional research on your original subject.

These are some of the best ways to find niches online.

Niche Source #1: Use Google

Begin with a broad topic and let Google guide you through all its iterations.

I love Dungeons & Dragons, for example. Therefore, I would search Google for Dungeons & Dragons.

This search returns a lot of information and takes me to the most popular pages. It also provides me with insight into the interests of Dungeons & Dragons fans.

For example, the “People also Ask” snippet shows me four common questions that are associated with this search. One is “What do you need to play Dungeons and Dragons?”

This directly affects products so there could be a chance.

Digging deeper

Now, I have some niche products ideas: dice and printed character sheets, whiteboards, adventures. This information allows me to dig deeper.

I will use the “D&D dice” idea to conduct another Google search.

We can see the top selling options for D&D dice via stand-alone websites like Wyrmwood or on popular online retailers platforms such as Etsy and Amazon.

You can also find articles about D&D dice here. These articles will help you to get to the most relevant information for people searching for “d&d die.”

The Wyrmwood set was the first item listed in the results. This suggests that dice are very popular.

This is important because you will not only want to find niches for Amazon products, but you will also want to determine the popularity of niches.

SimilarWeb is a website that allows you to see how popular a page or blog post is on Google. The following statistics are available for Wyrmwood Gaming, for example:

My rule of thumb is to look for websites that receive between 100,000 and 300,000. This traffic indicates that the niche is viable and not too competitive.

This website is an excellent place to learn about their business and model your own.

Niche Source #2: Online Communities

Online communities are the next place to look for niche ideas. There are many online communities, but these are the top to help you gain a better understanding of a niche’s popularity.

Instagram

Thanks to the use of hashtags, Instagram is a great tool for finding niches. I used the Dungeons & Dragons example as a reminder. I searched for #dungeonsanddragons on Instagram.

We can immediately see three types of niches in the Dungeons and Dragons community on Amazon. You can see a pattern in the top posts, which include more dice. ), a Dungeons & Dragons outfit, and character art.

These are all niche possibilities. You could sell dice, make costumes or design images of Dungeons & Dragons characters.

To gauge how popular a niche is, you can look at their Top Posts to find their hashtag lists. You should look for hashtags that are related to an image with between 50,000-500,000 posts.

If you have less than 100,000, it is possible that there is not enough demand to fill the niche. You might be over-competitive if you have more than 500,000.

This hashtag was attached to one of the top posts in the #dungeonsanddragons hashtag result results. Now we have a whole page filled with dice.

We can see the author of the first post if we “follow the rabbit holes” and click on it.

You can see that they sell math gems (nerds’ term for Dungeons & Dragons dice). They have a shop that has a link and they seem to be doing enough business that their “COMMISSIONS are CLOSED” page is empty. Plus, they have 5,710 fans.

This account is great for starting your own niche business. It seems that they have had some success in the niche of ‘DND Dice’.

Facebook

Facebook is an excellent tool for finding niche ideas. It allows you to search through posts, hashtags and groups.

Again, I used the Dungeons & Dragons example to search for “Dungeons & Dragons” on Facebook. You can filter your search by people, pages or images on the left side.

I filter by groups because it’s a great method to narrow down an audience and gauge its size.

You will find tons of groups you can join as you scroll down. To get a better idea of the conversations happening in these groups, spend some time browsing through them. Participate in conversations and build relationships with other members of the group.

Find out the pain points that your members are experiencing that you can help them.

Reddit

Reddit is another great place to find niches online that are profitable. It is a collection or communities broken into subreddits. This means that the platform already organizes its data into niches (or subsets).

The growth and follower count of a subreddit is a measure of its popularity. Subredditstats.com organizes all data from reddit by growth and follower count. You can also search for specific subreddits.

Here are the statistics for the extremely popular r/DnD subreddit (Dungeons & Dragons).

Dungeons and Dragons is too vast a topic for us to pursue. Subredditdata.com provides details about top keywords and subreddits related to Dungeons & Dragons.

We can immediately see great opportunities, especially when we use keywords.

If I was still interested in selling Dungeons & Dragons die, I instantly see that the terms d20 and d6 are very popular. Popular is the word amethyst, a type or gem.

Maybe amethyst Dungeons and Dragons dice might be worth looking at?

Quora

Quora is another community that can help you find profitable niches.

Quora allows users to ask questions about specific topics. The original poster and other readers vote for the best answer.

Quora is a great tool for finding profitable niches.

Quora, just like Reddit organizes its questions into topics or subtopics. It also provides information on topics related to the original topic. These subjects can help you discover new niches people are interested.

The questions are a great way to find out what the community wants. Quora is an excellent way to find out what your community wants if you are planning on creating a product or service that is informational.

How do you validate the demand for your niche/product idea

Once you have multiple chances to vet, you can use Ecominsight’s product research tool. To learn more about possible Amazon product niches, log in to Amazon.

Let’s say, for example, I want to search “Glass Weather Predictors”.

To bring up Extension, click the “JS” button at the right of the Google search bar once the search page has opened. You’ll find a lot of useful information within seconds, including:

  • Average monthly sales for a niche
  • Its average sales price
  • Its average reviews
  • Chance Score
  • All products on the search page

When looking at Amazon’s data, you should look for products with an average monthly sale of 300 units.

A good average sales price is also important; it should be between $25 and $50

Low competition is next, which can be gauged with reviews. If the average review is less than 100, it’s usually a sign that there is low competition.

How to monetize Amazon’s profitable product niches

How do you make money once you have found a niche that you like? There are many opportunities available, each with its merits and challenges.

You can market and grow your niche at a high level in these ways

  1. You can sell a product that is related to this niche on Amazon, your site, or other marketplaces.
  2. You can create a niche blog and sell AdSense Pay Per Click ads on it
  3. Amazon Affiliate Commissions for Products Featured on Your Niche Blog
  4. Other affiliate products that are relevant to your niche can be sold
  5. Promote sponsored posts on your niche site
  6. Create an ebook on your niche
  7. Offer courses in your niche
  8. Be a consultant in the niche you are interested
  9. You can create paid membership forums for your niche.
  10. Sell your niche site

What’s the matter?

It’s up to you now to identify niches for Amazon products that will help make your business a success. There are many ways to cut and dice a niche. You don’t have to win every game. There are many profitable niches waiting for you.
